Free Utah Activities

Here is a list of some of the FREE non-music activites throughout Utah County & Salt Lake area that I found. There are just so many that I can't list everything. Hope you find something fun for you and your family!

*  Snowbird Favorites from the 80’s & 90’s

Every Friday night, bring the family up Little Cottonwood Canyon for a free showing of our favorite childhood movies. Shows start at dusk (8 p.m.-9 p.m.) on the Plaza Deck*. Coolers and snacks are allowed. Remember, no dogs are allowed in Little Cottonwood Canyon.

*Events are weather dependent and may be delayed due to sunset time.

* Springville Movies in the Park

A series of free family movies shown outdoors at the Spring Acres Arts Park (700 South 1300 East) throughout the summer. Admission is free to the public. Gates open at 7:00 pm. Movies will start at dusk (about 9 pm). Bring your own blankets or folding chairs. Concessions will be available. For the safety and enjoyment of everyone, NO ALCOHOL BEVERAGES OR DOGS ALLOWED.

* Provo Balloon Fest
More than 25,000 spectators will have the opportunity to experience approximately 25 of these magical giants close-up as part of the ever popular Balloon Fest. Anyone interested may attend this free event at Bulldog Field, 1100 North Freedom Boulevard, Provo. Balloons will be flying each morning from 6:30-8 a.m., July 3 and 4. The event offers families and children the privilege of walking around the balloons as they inflate. Make sure and arrive at 6:30am to see the balloons inflate.

Free admission
Start with festive rides and games, thousands of smiling children and lots of volunteers, then locate them all at the Utah State Fair Park. The result: Family Fun Day, an event for all ages.
* Free Day Natural History Museum of Utah
Monday, July 9, in appreciation for the Zoo, Arts, and Parks funding. It is recommended that visitors reserve advance tickets for Free Days on a while-supplies-last basis.

The Gallivan Center is thrilled to join forces with the Utah Film Center for the 2012 Monday Night Movie series. This year's theme: 70s Disaster Movies! Movies start at dusk. Low back chairs, blankets, pillow and food are allowed. And don't forget about the Gallivan Center's new concessions stand offering all kinds of munchies and drinks as well!
