Food, Music & Friends

We’ve been keeping busy and most of it is fun. Since Elisa and Sabrina started their new school this year, they haven’t kept in touch with their friends from the old neighborhood very well. (Alex’s friends all go to the same junior high so he sees them.) So I told the girls they could have a get together here with all of them. Alex invited a couple of people too, but his friends were busy. So it was all girls. This is the easiest way to make them happy. SUGAR! We had pizza and chips too, but when they saw the candy and cake, they were so excited.
They look pretty calm in this photo that I took right at the beginning of the party (before a few more guests arrived). I should have taken photos later. They got very crazy and threw candy all over and spent two hours playing some game where they had to yell…a lot. Who says boys are more work? And the 10- and 11-year olds were crazier than the 4-year old and 6-year olds. I hope they enjoyed it.
Sabrina has wanted to have a lemonade stand for a while so I baked cookies and we made some lemonade. Elisa decided to help and 2 of their friends came over to help. We went around the corner from our house to a busier road. They made $6.50 so I guess that’s not too bad.
We had a couple of families over for dinner last Saturday and I didn’t take any photos, but it was fun to sit and talk. When they left after almost 4 hours, Elisa asked me, “How can you find things to talk about for 4 hours?” That is coming from a girl who comes home from spending the day at school with her friends and immediately wants to text them and then have them come hang out.

Then last night Alex’s beginning band had a concert. It is fun for me to see him showing off his talent after all that work and practice. My parents and sister Sheri came too and we hadn’t seen them in a while so it was good to see them.

  1. Alex looks so official with that shirt on. My band classes never had anything like that. Seems like the kids have had all kinds of fun things going on!
